Biking 1:02:00 [3]

Biking in place! Soggy day and I didn't want to run 4 days in a row (we're planning to go for a run to check out Halloween decorations tomorrow), so I just biked in place. Debated going longer because I was feeling fine but in the end decided that my knees and ankles and things probably didn't need to get pushed.

Running 1:00:00 [3] 7.0 mi (8:34 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 25

Running with Margaret at lunch! Since I couldn't make it yesterday, we decided to go for a fun run this afternoon. Margaret wanted to head down to Six Mile Creek, so we headed through Belle Sherman and down to some trails. The woods are super pretty right now with nice leaves and stuff like that, so we ran down to the river and then headed up to the waterfall. When we got to the end of the trail, there was an enticing looking super sketchy path(?) up a cliff. After some brief debate, we decided that what was life without adventure, and aside from one particularly wet and sketchy section where we both sort of wondered what would happen if we fell, it was a successful journey up the cliff. Woo! We then ran around the upper trails for a bit before dropping back down to the creek to run along in the woods. We found one (very cold) snake as we were getting back to the road. Then it was just the road run back up the hill to lab. So good to get out in the middle of the day!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Stretching back home after work. I paid for my mid-day fun by then proceeding to be in lab until 9pm. Sigh.

Running 35:00 [3] 3.6 mi (9:43 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 25

Running with Sam and Presto after lab! Lab got in the way of joining the weekly afternoon running group today, so we headed out in the evening for our normal loop. There's not as much water around as there was on Tuesday, but the waterfalls are still pretty impressive. Good to get out!

Running 35:00 [3] 3.6 mi (9:43 / mi)

Running with Sam and Presto after lab! It was super, super rainy today and there was a flash flood warning for our neighborhood, which seemed excessive considering the depth of the gorges. That said, the waterfalls were AWESOME tonight! We stopped to gaze in wonder at each of the bridges. It was drizzly and cool out and got very wet by Triphammer Falls, which were creating so much mist that it was super wet on the footbridge. Presto was displeased. Super good to get out!

Running 1:20:00 [3] 8.3 mi (9:38 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 25

Running with Sam and Presto at Monkey Run! We spent most of the day doing house projects/random chores but got out for a run before dark. We ran all the way out to Route 13 from the suspension bridge and ran into one of my lunchtime running buddies who was running the other way. We poked around on the trails to come back, but they were a bit too poison ivy-ish for us, so we did a bit of running along Hanshaw before cutting back onto the trails at the trailhead on Hanshaw. I'm guessing it's all psychological because I just haven't been running with the faster people that many times, but man did it feel easy to run at Sam and my more normal pace and chat the entire time than it has been struggling to keep up on the lunch runs. We were definitely racing to get back before it was fully dark by the end, but it was fantastic to get out for such a nice trail run!
