Hiking up Cat Mountain in the Adirondacks with Sam and Zephy! We were going to go to the Catskills today, but Sam found this mountain with a decent view in the southern Adirondacks, so we decided to that instead. This hike was very crowded. There weren't many people, but that was good because there wasn't room for people with all the black flies. I'm not sure when we've last had a hike with as fast a per mile time as this hike because we were booking it to stay away from the bugs. This was likely because the hike was mainly through a swamp for like 3.5 miles before ascending sharply towards the end. The view from the summit was really nice, but sadly we could not really sit and eat lunch and enjoy it because all the bugs were enjoying us for lunch instead, so we took a few quick pictures and then booked it back down. Still super good to get out into the mountains!

Lunch run with Zephy! I am indeed not functioning at full capacity today. At least I am done with the big thing I needed to do this week, so now I just have to deal with all the smaller things that I was putting off. I was feeling pretty stressed when I started, but it's hard to stay stressed when it is so delightful outside, and by the end I was feeling decent. Good to get out!

Lunch run with Zephy! I didn't really have time for this today - too much work - but Zephy has to get out one way or another, so a run it was. It was a good break at least, and then I continued to work until late into the night, so probably for the best.

Lunch run with Zephy! So many meetings today, but I managed to slip out between two of them. It was delightful and warm, but both Zephy and I must be getting more used to the temperature because neither of us were dragging as badly as a couple of weeks ago. Good to get out!

Running with Zephy around the horse fields and Monkey Run! I'm still pretty wrecked from yesterday, but managed to get myself out for a run this morning. Running felt great today, and Zephy was less bonkers than usual, so I wasn't getting yanked around too much. So good to get out!

Hiking at Monkey Run with Margaret and Zephy! Managed to slip out for a walk with Margaret between running and my concert. Just a nice chatty walk. Zephy was very interesting in lots of sticks :-).
