Running with Zephy at Hammond Hill! Probably we should get some sort of award for keeping Zephy from running for 3 days. Last night it became obvious that he was not going to stay still any longer, though, so we decided getting him tired through running/walking was better than leaping around the house. There's apparently a rabid coyote that attacks people and dogs on the Monkey Run trails, so we headed to Hammond Hill instead. It was an absolutely GORGEOUS day outside and we had a blast running today. Fun, fun!

Hiking at Treman State Park with Sam and Zephy! After lunch we headed back out for a hike at Treman. Zephy was happy to sniff all the things, and it was good to spend some more time outside on such a gorgeous day.

Lunch run! Zephy's getting neutered today, so it was just me on the run. We'll see how long we can keep Zephy still after the neuter. He may be running kind of soon to keep him from executing his standard plan of leaping 5 feet into the air when he's bored. Fairly uneventful run, but good to be outside for a bit.

Lunch run with Zephy! Warm again. We were already pretty warm from just existing today, and then the run just made us warmer. Zephy acted like he needed to pee at one point and instead just flopped down on the grass, which was kind of hilarious. I cooled him off in Fall Creek, which improved things a bunch. Good to get out!

Long course at the Presidio! Woohoo! Made it out to a BAOC meet today :-). Apparently, I still orienteering more (or at least as much) in CA as I do in NY. Bizarre. Anyway, the course was super fun with awesome, awesome views of the Golden Gate and the Bay and the ocean. I had a mostly clean run with one completely massive error on number 4, where I thought the control was on a spur, but it was actually in a reentrant, and I spent like 5 minutes looking up and down the spur before I realized it was in the reentrant next to the spur. I also am very slow running on sand. Other than that, it was just awesome to be out orienteering!

Short course at the Presidio! I got back before everyone else, and I wasn't particularly tired, so I decided to head out on the short course. It took a little while before I could find someone with a map that they were willing to give up (they ran out of maps early), but eventually I got back out there. I got kind of confused on number 2 when I intended to go across some impenetrable "white" woods before realizing I was going to need to go wayyyy around. And then I stopped to help a beginner who was lost on the way to number 3. Other than that, I was just cruising along having a great time. We also got some more super fun views on this course :-). So good to be out orienteering today!!
