Warm up/down 10:00 [3]

Pre-Balnagowan O

Orienteering race 45:00 [4]
shoes: Mudclaw 300 b/r

Balnagowan Green (the days longest).
Took a while to get into it and lost time at each of the first three.
Seemed an awful long way from the start to cross the track before no.1 ..bit thrown by that....then by CR who had started a minute or so before me. We were both significantly too low at 1. Then too high up the spur at 2 and bananed 3. Good after that although forest was pretty rough. Lovely weather in the parking field.

Gym 25:00 [3]

Usual weights and stretches.

Orienteering 57:00 [3] 9.1 km (6:16 / km)

RTH Guiding.
Standard November weekend Friday afternoon session (via Albert). Group of 4. 1 Scot, 1 English, 1 Italian, 1 Russian. Really clear but very atmospheric. Felt really weary. Fun as ever though.

Trail / Road Run 3:32:23 [3] 42.8 km (4:58 / km) +353m 4:46 / km

Road Bike 2:01:53 [3] 49.93 km (2:26 / km) +331m 2:22 / km

Ballater and back with 10.00 Banchory crew.
Bust helmet strap...had to retrieve another so aborted Banchory start and picked things up at Allancreich. With AT, MF and A on the way out and AT and MF back the way.
Not used to cycling with folk :-)

Orienteering 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: ORoc 340

DNC 3 Shooting Greens. Not a good day at the office.
Couldn't find the last one and when I did it was the wrong last one. mp. Perhaps the least surprising thing today after biking earlier was that I got cramp when I fell in a ditch.

Trail / Terrain Run 1:15:00 [3]

Recce for DNC #15 Corsedardar
Trotted along behind a fox for a bit near Midstrath then once higher up spent a good bit of time floundering around in dead bracken in the open area trying to make the map fit. If there wasn't bracken here it might be quite good and worth mapping further. Then spent a good bit of time admiring the currently great state of much of the plantation to the north of Toms Cairn. Very little dark green now and almost runnable in places. Unfortunately the map doesn't really reflect what's there. Reeking of deer. Huge great active badgers sett in there too. Plenty deer wandering about also.
Returned down the old track then via Birkenhill.
Plodding but nice to be running again.
