Walk 1:00:00 [3]

Mount Cook Village
Parked at the CP by the campsite and took the Sealy Tarns track. With T. Very steep and very stepped but a good pace. Great views to the Hooker Valley and Mount Cook beyond.
Pushed on a bit up towards the Mueller Hut but too much snow further on to make going the remaining +300m viable.
Out for 2.5. Climbed 700m.

Hooker Valley track up to the lake and back again. Very scenic but continually having to bypass the tourists. Three suspension bridges and a few sections of board walk. Tired after but plenty rest and recuperation in the Old Mountaineers Cafe in Mount Cook village sorted some of that. Great Doc visitor centre too.

Road Running 10:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka Red

Down Fitzgerald Avenue in Christchurch ...to collect C's car with its nice new windscreen. Wet, windy and not very nice.

Trail 59:48 [3] 9.2 km (6:30 / km) +372m 5:24 / km

Had intended having an extended run round Christchurch when picking up the car but wimped out when I saw the weather. Good decision as it was fabulous later on in Tekapo.

Drove up Mt John to the observatory and then did the markef loop back down then along the lake and back up again. Except I couldn't find the path back up and time was short so it turned into a more stressful eyeballs out climb when I did find it. Only to find T had missed the other path so was late too.

Some of the very best views of the snow covered Southern Alps and the lake. To die for.

Trail 44:33 [3] 8.0 km (5:34 / km)
shoes: Hoka Red

Out and back on the Hurunui Bluff Road. Really hard work early in the morning. Not the most fun run on this trip. Possibly not of great benefit either although maybe got some of Sundays run out of the legs.

Rough and Tumble to Birchfield.
Very undulating gravel road for first 12k then along the Charmimg Creek Walkway all the way to the coast and The Tasman Sea. Last 10k beside the main road south.
First and last parts a grind but smashing historical trail on the middle. Lots of coal mine workings and relics and through tunnels beside the riverr gorge. Pretty spectacular stuff.
Glad to jump in the car at the end
