Potties and some of the nicest bits of terrain. Back and forth feeling pretty good although would prefer to have no achilles soreness at all.
Nice time for it but still haven't managed to fine the time to chop some of the bracken in the usual places. Needs it now.

Gramp Glen Dye
Long Tech on contour only
Lovely runout in some of the best bits of Glen Dye. Great place for a contour only map course although the features there make it somewhat straightforward.
Spiked pretty much everything including the ditch which I thought was meant to be a veg change until I remembered it had to be brown dots on the map...colour blindness kicking in.
Vegetation ok in the bits of the area used and only 1to2 affected much by bracken.
Caught up by TG and would have liked to follow him on the long leg across the hill...some chance!

Course from 2017 6 Day at Balfour. W20/35.
Controls 1 to 12 then wandered back. Not at all energised in the heat but stuck at it. Forgot how rough some parts are especially with the bracken up. Not very fluent but hopefully worthwhile.
Plenty ticks.

Should really do something like this at least twice a week. Its got to be almost the most worthwhile of any session I do but just need to do it more. Tough in its own way.

Note

Was going to revisit Balfour today but too weary to make the most of it so....tomorrow.

Ridley (except for home stretch from Aboyne - switched to Helium)
Aboyne cc to Ballater on Deeside Way, turned round; back to Riverside Cafe for a quick coffee then back to Aboyne. All with T. (34k and 1.45 thus far).
Switched bikes and continued on my own on DW to Potties, then through the wood on the southern main track , round the community path to home. All very enjoyable.

(Continuing the distribution of posters advertising the planets greatest 10k: Toms Cairn 8/9/19.) Don't miss it.
