Mtn Bike 1:47:28 [3] 24.28 km (4:26 / km) +587m 3:57 / km

Helium
Corybeg grind. Unusually managed it all the way up without a foot down anywhere but it hurt somewhat :-) . Along the top then down to Birse Castle then followed the Fungle past the shooting lodge (met a VW car just before it - really weird), then down the keepers track to the road and back home via Birse and the back road.

Lovely day and didn't see a soul from leaving the house to getting back in the lane (apart from seeing the folk in the strange car episode. Why would you take a car up there....and people in cars on the main road at the end).

Note

2x 3x 15 straight leg drops
2x 3x 15 bent knee drops
Ongoing but now weighted

With SW. Deeside Way to Shooting Greens: Scolty Cp, back along beside a very full Dee with a final push back up to Shooting Greens. Then home via DW and the lane.
Very wet and muddy.

Note

2x 3x 15 straight leg drops
2x 3x 15 bent knee drops

Tuesday Aug 6 #

Mtn Bike 1:26:33 [3] 22.71 km (3:49 / km) +466m 3:27 / km

Helium
Up and over to Finzean; road to pretty much Birse Castle; then the mother of all dark clouds prompted a change of plan from the intended Fungle route and home via the cistern track, to the somewhat shorter tracks via the shoulder of Lamahip and Corybeg before the descent to Murley and home. Successfully avoided any rain.

What a place and route to have available on your doorstep. No one else about. Felt good.

Note

2x 3x 15 straight leg heel drops
2x 3x 15 bent leg heel drops
and then some

Note

Achilles not grumbling so much today.

Note
(injured)

That was another great 6 day.

As usual lots of talking points and I'm sure we all “could have, would have, should have”, again as usual. (This sport might be the greatest but there sure are plenty of ways to find why we didnt win).

Sorry to miss the last two days but I'm sure it’s for the better and hope to gain a lot of confidence from the experiences of the other days. (Delighted to win 4 BOC medals within 9 months in 18/19 in 4 different O disciplines ("proper orienteering" or otherwise :-) ) but proved something even bigger to myself on Day 2. Big big tick.

Mtn Bike 22:00 [3] 9.0 km (2:27 / km)

Round the block late on with T..or at least started off with T then stopped for a chinwag with IW and had to catch her up.

Note

Trip to AS for physio.
Told me pretty much what I expected. Lots of biking, easy running, any number of heel drops and raises. That sums it up pretty much.

(injured)

Achilles has settled down somewhat. Proper rehab this time. Starts today.
