Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Mudclaw 300 Yellow

Sluie: putting out night kites for Scotjos training with T.

Fabulous morning in the wood. This place is truly wonderful at this time of year. The dead bracken has largely been flattened by the snow, the brashings are currently manageable and the two main hill areas make for some lovely running. A real pleasure to be out in the sunshine. Maybe next year we should use this place for something meaningful in the spring.

Pretty much pottered around for a couple of hours enjoying it. Have fun Scotjos. Make the most of a great place.

Buzzards, a snipe...and a tick.

Mtn Bike 20:09 [3] 5.11 km (3:57 / km) +127m 3:30 / km

To Finzean Farm Shop for a social appoinment. Up and over and down to Finzean House and along the main drive.

Mtn Bike 14:29 [3] 4.2 km (3:27 / km) +84m 3:08 / km

..and back home again from FFS via the main road this time.

Warm up/down 30:00 [3]
shoes: Mudclaw 300 Yellow

To and from the base of The Fungle.

Hills 35:00 [3]
shoes: Mudclaw 300 Yellow

Deeside Runners hills up The Fungle.
10*2mins with run back down recovery.
My session from hell. Hills are just not my strong point now. Ground out the 10 just about. Enough said pretty much. Good group out though and that eased the pain a wee bit.

Trail 25:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 35

Academy Run Club 17 to Aboyne Castle grounds
Relays and manhunt with JM, IW and SR. Didnt particularly exert myself.
Always need to be careful not to overstretch anything on some of these sessions.
Nice afternoon. Tired from yesterdays efforts though. Skipped aerobics in the morning for that reason.

Road Running 1:31:41 [3] 19.02 km (4:49 / km) +174m 4:37 / km
shoes: Hoka Blue/Yellow

Finzean to Birse Church return
With T (on bike). Road pretty much clear of ice and slush.
Wen t out hoping that I'd not lost too much as a result of colds and coughs and taking ski time out.

Bit of a headwind on the way out but seemed to have disappeared on the way back, so no tailwind :-(. Worked hard - bit of a tester really - harder than I probably should have done. Breathing not great on the way out but, not surprisingly, ok on the downhill way back.
25s slower in total than Sept 18.

Nice buzzard close up on a fence post.

What comes next in this sequence:
New York, Malaga, Berlin, Pustertaler ski,........?
(I hope not for lots of reasons.)

Road Running 36:36 [3] 6.2 km (5:54 / km) +130m 5:21 / km
shoes: Hoka Blue/Yellow

Finzean to Ballogie w/d, back over Corsedardar. Finzean Community path for starters and road thereafter.
It' seems a very big hill when you are tired but warmed to it ..kind of. Interestingly Birse Church is at much the same height as the Corsedardar Memorial. Not what you'd necessarily think.

Note

Still a bit of a cold / cough but ok.
