Trail 59:37 [3] 11.26 km (5:18 / km) +41m 5:12 / km
shoes: Hoka Blue/Yellow

5 x 1k / 2 mins on the Leeds and Liverpool canal through Burnley. Still had all those climbing metres in my legs but thought I’d give it a bash.

A few folk to avoid on the towpath but a good surface.
4.20, 4.16, 4.08, 4.08, 4.20 so not particularly consistent but got it done.

2k w/u and 3.5k w/d

Note

Hedge cutting

Trail 5:09:26 [3] 19.06 km (16:14 / km) +1633m 11:22 / km
shoes: Mudclaw 300 Yellow

From Inveruglas up Ben Vane with T and K first. Lovely day. Warm and still but not too warm. A few people on the hill but certainly not crowded. Up the tourist route but then dropped direct down to Loch Sloy dam. Left T and K there for them to walk back but thought I might as well take in Ben Vorlich well.

Extremely steep directly up from the dam but probably 45 minutes to the top. Again really clear and great views. Then Down the tourist path. Almost down to the road when I met a guy in shorts, tennis shoes, and t-shirt And nothing else. He was messing with his phone. “Is this Ben Vorlich pal?”. “Yep”, and off he went. Hope he made it up, and down again.

Short but nice dip in Loch Lomond after. Needed it after those steep climbs.

Pollok Park with T (for first 5k) and K.
Turned into a real progression run with the last 3-4k with K fairly rattling along. Nice out in the park.

Gravel Bike 3:19:24 [3] 53.74 km (3:43 / km) +479m 3:33 / km

There's life beyond Deeside.
Went over the hill for a spin round Angus with T.
First a windy but very pleasant inland loop from Montrose including past hordes of small piglets at a pig farm then some real gravelly bits through a pheasant farm. Returned to the coast at Arbroath. Biked through the Abbey and then had a bit of a rest by the harbour for a takeaway coffee when it looked as though the heavens were about to open...they didn't. Don't think they eat anything but fish and chips in Arbroath though.
Back along the coast although to be fair didnt really go close enough to see much of it.
