Walk 1:00:00 [3]

With T.
Pretty weary from two hard sessions up Ben Newe in last three days so nice to have a sedate pace day with minimal climb, in Ballochbuie. Always brilliant there but particularly so in the low angle bright sunlight today. Clear as a bell and stunning near and far views.
From Keiloch, up to bbq hut, dawdled a bit, then returned via green bridge and the white bridge. Three hours wandering.
Highlander Bakehouse after.

Friday Nov 27 #

Trail 50:00 [5] 7.79 km (6:25 / km) +421m 5:03 / km
shoes: Mudclaws bluebackred

Guiding S and DW round the DR Ben Newe VR route. Still turned into a high effort outing. Nice though. I am sure there's potential short cutting of some of the mtb bends.

Thursday Nov 26 #

Trail 37:47 [3] 4.7 km (8:02 / km) +133m 7:03 / km
shoes: Pegasus 35

Pleasant trundle up the back, over Craigmore and back down south side.

Note

A bit surprised that what started out as a simple idea to run up 24 named Deeside hills in the days of advent seems to have caught the imagination of a lot of folk. 20 already. Didn’t fancy the 1 - 24k Run Rudolph Run idea so decided to just come up with a list of hills and do that myself. Seems to have caught on though, a lot down to SWs publicity I have to say - even got a Strava group. Now, as its public, just have to do it. :-)
11 AM

Warm up/down 12:00 [3] 1.5 km (8:00 / km) +60m 6:40 / km
shoes: Mudclaws bluebackred

Pre Ben Newe VR

Trail race 47:17 [5] 7.8 km (6:04 / km) +417m 4:47 / km
shoes: Mudclaws bluebackred

DR Ben Newe virtual race (#6)
Wasn’t looking forward to the first bit in particular. Fairly steep uphill right from cp pretty much....then continuing to climb for a couple of km. Track after that fine then you get to the interesting single track stuff leading through the wood, then the open and up to the trig.

Hard to really go fast on the downhill back - so many twists and turns in the mtb track. Not sure if there are short cutting possibilities.

Good chat to D&JO at finish. Result respectable but certainly not outstanding. Losing significant time to folk around about on all the uphills but holding my own, or often better, on the downs. Age :-(

Great bright weather..but only +1 at start.

Tuesday Nov 24 #

Trail 28:00 [3] 4.5 km (6:13 / km)

Not motivated...gentle trundle round Home Farm loop and that’s all.

Trail / Road Run 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)

26 this week. Great to have so many!
Round Queens loch and back. Bit of a burn up back along to the school.
Just about managed with no headtorches.

Sunday Nov 22 #

Walk 40:00 [3]

With T from near Coull church a loop up on to Mortlich and then back down and back by a lower route through the forest. Too many new high deer fences in Coull these days. Two hours out.
