Note

Recalibrated the turbo. Figures should at least be at least vaguely sensible from now on.

Trail 35:01 [3] 4.75 km (7:22 / km) +100m 6:40 / km
shoes: Mudclaws bluebackred

Up to Torqu and round the hard stubbley fields waiting for the sun to come up. -7 and so nice. First run on hills for a bit. Calf ok.
11 AM

Walk 1:00:00 [3]

Craigrath with T. It's been a long time..very.
From Brockton up the far tracks to the old cottage, which the estate appear to be doing up. Then the usual way up to Craigrath through beautiful snow. Through the heather and deep snow to the cairn to the SE before a circuitous route to the old shooting lodge. Very picturesque it was too.
Never seen so many people on the HoF. We never used to see a soul.
Out for 2.30

Walk 1:00:00 [3]

Mount Shade with T
Loop from the usual Clachnaben cp. Surprised things were so quiet. Great snow, lovely light.
2.10 walking

Turbo 32:00 [3]

w/u, TrainerRoad Ramp Test..w/d
Calibration still all to pot.

Note

Calf seems almost good to go but need to continue strengthening and continue getting back into things gently.

Terrain 21:00 [3] 3.3 km (6:22 / km)
shoes: Mudclaws bluebackred

Round the Ballogie fields early on again. Bit of a melt going on. Chill headwind on the want back. Just keeping things short, flat and steady this week and see where it takes me.

Note

DR 2021 checkpoint challenge hasn’t really hit the mark for me yet. Not got the enthusiasm thus far. Maybe it’s partly a result of RRR. Still got all year though. PMs draft Jan challenge might have been good after all...but then again a currently dodgy calf.....

Turbo 1:03:00 [3]

Trainer Road Carson
Need to recalibrate.

Note

Through the fields to Home Farm, then explored another bit of the Cattie Burn on the way back.

S&C 15:00 [3]

Note

Along the south side of the Cattie Burn from the estate office through to the Birkenhill Farm road with T. Very doable. Lots of animal tracks in the snow..maybe pine marten, badger, pheasant....

Treadmill 21:00 [3] 2.2 km (9:33 / km)
shoes: Hoka Blue/Yellow

Gently, gently avoiding the micro, and maybe macro movements, required to run smotthly on the lane at a time of such ice. Wanted to avoid gradients too so wonderful neighbours garage treadmill loan much appreciated.
All fine but resisted the temptation to stress things further in terms of speed, gradient or duration the first time of asking.

Note

Walk exploring the far side of the Cattie Burn.
45 mins ish.

Turbo 1:00:00 [3]

Trainerroad Monitor
Still taking things gently.

Walk 2:30:00 [3] 7.6 km (19:44 / km) +400m 15:38 / km

Crannach Hill with T
From Tullich car park
Lovely morning and a nice stomp in the snow. Took lots of care not to aggravate the calf...hope I haven't. As JM said, a really nice Norwegian like ridge of regenerating pine. Lots of animal tracks in the snow and also probably those of the aforementioned :-) Just a heron and a few grouse about though - decent views to compensate. Up and down the same way pretty much

Road Running 18:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka Blue/Yellow

Another run / walk for rehab purposes
On the lane and a brief round of a field.
8r/4w/10r
Calf feeling a little weak towards the end. Need to go carefully.

Note

Walk up through western end of Potties, over Gallow Hill and back through the fields. Really nice.
An hour plus.

S&C 20:00 [3]

Usual routines
Also a fair bit of calf rolling with the stick.
