Great day.
With JM
Bit wary about 25k in the hills knowing what the snow has been like but 'twas "just the ticket" :-)

Forest of Birse then Hill of Cat, Tampie, Hill of Cammie, Mount Battock, and Cock Hill. Just the perfect stiffness of snow, great for running on, and patches in amongst the peat hags made for far better progress than normal. -4 when we started but steadily warmed.

Interesting lattice work ice sculptures on gates and fences. Following mudclaw prints up the first couple of hills, probably from yesterday, but deserted apart from, unusually, three folk, in two groups, on Battock...probably driven there by the Saturday crowds on Clachnaben...one hare, a few grouse and a few kites.

Expected to be pretty wasted by the end - glad not to be entirely, but equally glad it wasn't further. Excellent, longest run for a good bit.

5 DR Checkpoints too but I need to decide whether I'm really up for this challenge or not...possibly just by stealth...depends maybe also on how restricted we are for the rest of the year. On about 15 I think.

Deeside Way pretty much, to Aboyne then home via BIrse loop and Home Farm. Nice and bright - a mite chilly. Plenty layered. Lovely.

WIth CB
Home Farm, Milton, Lamahip, Corybeg, Craiglash, round Antilly.
Nice stomp. Still some sizeable snow patches on Lamahip and the Cattie Burn behind Auchaballa took a bit of crossing. Pretty nippy in the northerly.

Chilly day. No desire to go far because of that, but also because of yesterday’s efforts, so ..I didn’t.
Home, fields, then across the lane and just followed trods round most of Potties smaller summits from east end to west end. Ended up at Torqu. Just went gently but steadily. Made possible, or more pleasant, in some places by the completely flattened dead bracken.
Had acquired a bit of a sore back and shoulder during yesterday’s hills but today seemed to successfully get rid of those.

Another lovely Potarch woods day.
2k w/u, 2k w/d approx.
6 x "back of Craigmore" hills with SW. Much easier to do these with somebody so very glad of the company. Never easy though.
Worked out as approx 6 x 2.40 up / jog down.
Felt good after and distances I think were ok compared to other times I've done them.

Note
(rest day)

..apart from a bit of neighbourly dambusting across the field on the Cattie Burn. Amazing what a small water course like that can bring down. Tree trunks of a considerable girth.

Gravel Bike 2:10:00 [3] 45.0 km (2:53 / km) +550m 2:43 / km

Glen Cat and...great no snow...over to Forest of Birse, back to Strachan and the back way into Banchory. Then Glassel road and the cut through via Burnetts farm, down to, and through Trustach. Brief encounter with EC and AG...didntvreally register until too late...sorry...then main roads home. Garmin expired at Mitchells yard.
Nice mix of terrain. Climb up from Glen Cat farm tough but nice in its own way. 11 cars at Birse Church. Never seen that many there before.
