Crathes Parkrun
Only 4th time that I’ve run this, and first time on another slightly amended, and even steeper course. Never a course for any sort of pb, but good to support it occasionally, and it’s always nice running round Crathes.
Tucked in behind CR on the first downward km, then passed him, and never saw him again. The two climbs are tough with the bits in between providing welcome respite. Not exactly fun at the time but nice after :-), and running ok. Just the slight hamstring / glute niggle.
Reckon Crathes is about 3mins slower than a flat out and back course.

From Keiloch pedalling as far as I could up the shoulder of Culardoch. Seemed hard work.

Short but quick climb up to summit. Couldn't stand up when I got there. Hid behind the trig.

Another short and quick climb to a summit....Meall Gorm.. Lower. Bit less windy. Smashing viewpoint. Soon down again

Down the direct(ish) track to the Invercauld Monument. A new track for me. Slightly delayed by big forestry lorries. Tried to find alternative route back to main track, but failed.

Warm day but very windy up high. Love the glens round here.

Note

Seeing the Strava, and other, photos of runners from Deeside, (our own offsrping and others), enjoying the fabulous Abel Tasman track in NZ this week, has brought on serious withdrawal symptoms. Three years since we were there, and coming on two years since we were supposed to be again, ...could be another year yet :-((. Keep posting the pictures.

Wary of potential damage on the short ones but got through whole session OK.

3k warm up before Run Club on my own round through the woods and along the river bank.
With 23 kids and JM, KH, CB, LM to Castle grounds. Some good effort and activity levels. Drills, some fun relays, then back through castle woods.
