Scottish Champs
No oomph at all. Tired from the get go. No attacking it. Not quite sure why. Lack of terrain and running because of so much time away this year maybe. Also residual tiredness from big ride on Monday….mix of things probably. 62 should still have been very doable mind.

Some misses, particularly missing the pit at #2….hill mapping a little odd here; ,too far left at 15, ditch mapping at 17 also strange, then inexcusably a couple of mins marching off down the wrong track to 18 (up to 3 mins) and so slow down the hill to 21 - tracks all over the place and didn’t want to miss it. 6 or 7 mins lost no bother.

Bumbling round a local loop before TC race meeting. Just to turn the legs over. Weary.

Bit of a bummer. Was really looking forward to supporting the evening sprint at Auchenblae only to fall foul of a pothole on the wee short cut through to the school car park. Delivered home on the Brechin garage flatbed without having got a run in. Will have to run the course sometime soon. Huh…cars with no spares wheels.

Tired from yesterday but needed to get out, and whilst this certainly wasnt the most sensible thing to be doing, it felt good to have done it....at somewhat reduced effort.

Van timing belt change in Dyce. Always a quandary.
Took the gravel bike as such a smashing day.
Out Formartine & Buchan Way as far as Auchnagatt. Last section from Ellon new to me. Never the most interesting route but traffic free at least although surface is very variable…some great, some mediocre, and small parts pretty dreadful.

Switched to the road for the route back aiming for The Coffee Apothecary at Pitmedden for sustenance. Great rhubarb cake, bacon roll..and coffee. Meandered back from there, then had to kill some time when van wasn’t ready. Extra loop via Mugiemoss, Grandholme, and Parkhill resulted…tipping things over the 100k.

Felt reasonably comfortable, although to be fair wasn’t exactly hammering along. Good use of a day “in Dyce”.
