Orienteering race 56:34 [4] **** 6.4 km (8:50 / km) +155m 7:53 / km
spiked:12/19c shoes: X-Talon 212 (SF)

SOL 5, Uath Lochans, Blue. Nice, mostly runnable, forest (at least I thought it was!), accurate, but more importantly, readable map, good planning and nice dry weather - what more could you ask for. It restored my confidence in orienteering after last weekend. Only major mistake was 4-5 when I didn't pick up path and banana'd into marshy semi open and got a bit confused until I picked up power line and straightened myself out - lost 1min+? Rest was just relatively minor misses and hesitation. 1st M55, 2nd on Blue behind Joe Wright (M16) on 53
