Another rest day needed - especially after a busy day on the ranch. I suppose I could log it as strength/conditioning?

Hill running race 3:03:55 [5] 23.2 km (7:56 / km) +1623m 5:52 / km
shoes: X-Claw 275

Sedbergh Hills fell race - tough! Started in Sedbergh and climbed Arant Haw first then a long fast descent to the west (where I lost places) before a short sharp climb to Castley Knotts. Then headed north for a climb and traverse via Black Force on a narrow, muddy and tricky path to a control in the valley below Uldale head. Next headed east to a control on Bowderdale Beck which involved a mostly pathless run over three cols - made up quite a few places here with a good line down through some erosion gullies below Hazelgill Knott. There then followed a long drag on the path to The Calf (675m) - was on my own for much of this until passed by a few near the top. Ridge run south from here, skirting round the side of Calders and Arant Haw to the last control on Winder. Lost another couple of places on the very steep but mostly grassy descent from here to the finish. Not sure of overall place but was 1st Vet 60 -which was a surprise as I was sure there was somebody who looked older than me in front! edit - was 47th, 11 mins ahead of next V60
