Hill running race 1:21:30 [4] 14.83 km (5:30 / km) +508m 4:41 / km
shoes: Hoka Evojawz

High Cup Nick fell race. Nice wee race - High Cup Nick itself is quite impressive. Weather turned a bit wild - strong winds and hailstones, made worse by the funnelling effect of the Nick. You knew it was windy when the waterfall that comes over the Nick was going sideways and uphill! Great to get a cccold shower when you are already ffffrozen - at least I wasn't wearing shorts like ~90% of the field:-) 1st V60

Birkiebrae, Falnsh & Lairhope forest roads with Murphy. Had considered going further but it came on snow and it was difficult seeing the road in the headtorch light.

Orienteering 51:47 [3] **** 6.4 km (8:05 / km) +220m 6:54 / km
shoes: VJ irock2

SOL 1, Darnaway East, Blue. Another crackin area (well worth the 5hrs+ drive). Map was at 1:10,000 which meant I had to be careful on the very detailed bits - luckily it stayed dry and it was quite breezy so my glasses didn't steam up. No drastic mistakes - just one or two wobbles and hesitations. Too far right at 2 ~30s, poor, cautious route to 11 ~30s, slightly right at 14 and landed in larger depression ~30s, tiredness setting at 16 and didn't pick up track (well covered with beech leaves) ~1 min, too far right at 19 - saw corner of wall ~30s. 4th on Blue and 1st M60, DonP 57.10
A successful weekend :-)
