LOC National event, Holme Fell. Blue(4.8km 320m) Great area and a challenging course on a very hot day. Clean to #9 - was going well and pushing quite hard. Got a fastest split to #9, which was a big climb, and was lying 2nd. Then the wheels came off! Started to suffer a bit with the heat and shed loads of time over the next 9 controls even although many of them were short and should have been relatively straight forward. Reckon I lost nearly 6mins and 4 places but stil manged to get some good scalps. It wasn't helped by running up to Blue and therefore getting a 1:10,000 map. Should in theory have been on Short Blue at 1:7,500 which would have made the map reading easier.

RR Sprint 4, St Boswells. Nominally 1.9km and I ran 4!!!! Mistook a line between controls for a black line blocking a gate and ran an awful lot further than necessary. At least it reminded me why I don't do urban (other than club events).

Donald bagging in the Moorfoot hills with KJ. Blackhope Scar, Bowbeat hill and Dundriech from Gladhouse reservoir. Bit of a bogfest on the first half until we hit the tracks around the Bowbeat windfarm. Dundreich, despite its name, was quite pleasant running. Nice breeze higher up but very warm lower down!
