Orienteering race 58:19 [4] *** 8.28 km (7:02 / km) +100m 6:38 / km
ahr:144 max:162 spiked:16/22c shoes: OROC 270

SOC, Craig Leach, M65L (7.3km 115m) Most of the course in the nice bits of Craig Leach with just 4 controls in the mountain bike track infested part of Craig Dunain hill. Map perhaps showing its age with some of the tracks/rides difficult to interpret.
#1 a bit hesitant until I got into the map
Pushed hard after that and was going well until a wee wobble at #12 - misread tracks and found a control in a depression - not mine! - corrected fairly quickly ~20s. Another wobble a #14 - again tracks causing confusion and then thought I was looking for a clearing on a spur when it was actaully in a (very shallow) reentrant. Very hesitant even although it was in full view! 10s.
After two wee wobbles decided I needed a safe route to #15, so took track well to the left which cost about 45s. Ok for the next few. Tried to be very careful with the last 4 "mickey mouse" controls among the MTB tracks but still manged to go too far right on the short leg from #20-#21 - couldn't see tracks underneath the circles! 30s. Overall happy with my run and the win!
