MTB (bike) 15:00 [1]
slept:8.0 shoes: one-day-old Yeti

More playing in the cow poo, can't wait for a proper ride!

Orienteering race (Long distance champs) 1:44:00 [4]
shoes: Space-age TEVAs

Again, gave the TEVAs another chance, and regretted it this time.
A shocking run, right from my 15min error at the start until my indecisive route up the finish chute. Sloppy, sloppy nav. Slow and inefficient on the short legs, indecisive on the long legs, fell over countless times for no good reason. Stupid sport. Once again, however, a great course on a great map and it was too nice out there to be too annoyed. Thanks to the great western decline of orienteering as a sport, i got a certificate for that effort.

Paddle 45:00 [3]

Practice with Pete on the double ski and John pacing us from behind. More stable than i was expecting- we should be ok as long as the weather is not too horrendous.

Run warm up/down 20:00 [2]
slept:6.0 shoes: Space-age TEVAs

Orienteering race (Middle distance champs) 44:00 [4]
shoes: Space-age TEVAs

Decided to give TEVAs one chance, and they were good on the granite.
For me, this was a good race. Deja vu city though, i had 4 or 5 good legs at the start, then started thinking about other stuff and got sloppy, then got really distracted, a bit cocky and made a big stupid error, then had a good finish. Great course on a great map, i had so much fun out there and don't care that everyone smashed me :)

MTB (bike bike bike) 30:00 [1]
shoes: brand spanking Yeti

Playing in the granite and cow poo. Bike, bike.

Roadie (river loop) 1:29:00 [3] 43.4 km (2:03 / km)
slept:7.0 shoes: Mongoose Roadie

Rode the long way around the river to work with Lisen. Much more fun than the usual commute and roadies get even more riled up when they get passed by two girls chatting. We matched the pace of the freeway cars for ages so must have been riding at 100kph, wow.

Roadie (commute) 29:30 [3] 13.0 km (2:16 / km)
shoes: Mongoose Roadie

Home

Run 25:00 intensity: (10:00 @2) + (7:00 @3) + (8:00 @5)
shoes: Feet

Beach fartlek. 8x40/20s and 8x30/30s with recovery in the middle. Plus some drills and runthroughs after instead of the beach session. Blustery, squally night and only 4 people turned up, one an admirably keen newby

Strength/Core (Plank) 3:30 [3]
shoes: Elbows

Token core workout before the really bad weather came.

Roadie (commute) 27:42 [3] 13.0 km (2:08 / km)
slept:7.0 shoes: Mongoose Roadie

Had a late night after getting distracted shopping for bikes :)
Lvoely ride to work in the rain, and was only 5sec off my record!

Roadie (commute) 30:00 [3] 13.0 km (2:18 / km)
shoes: Mongoose Roadie

Planned to train this arvo but spent an hour at the bike shop instead, which was far more fun. Have convinced myself to spend way too much on new bike. and i should have it ready for the GSAR too! sooooo excited....

Roadie (commute) 30:20 [3] 13.0 km (2:20 / km)
slept:8.0 shoes: Mongoose Roadie

To work. Feeling much better after a yorkshire pudding and a proper sleep. Starting to look forward to training again :)

Roadie (commute) 33:00 [3] 14.0 km (2:21 / km)
shoes: Mongoose Roadie

To running

Run (painful plod) 1:04:20 [3] 10.4 km (6:11 / km)
shoes: Space-age TEVAs

Painfully slow plod from bold park around the trails, with wil and john (both on their first run back after a couple of lazy and atypically alcoholic weeks) and hageby, who is too embarrassed about his little bald feet to run properly.
The TEVA shoes are disappointing to run in- no bounce for running on the road, but the soles are too thin on the trails and you can feel every rock. And it took me about 10min to work out the complicated elastic/lace/clip/velcro/strappy arrangement so they wouldn't be much good in a multisport race either! But they look good, so i shall consign them to wearing to work, and then perhaps in next year's teva race, so i can win another pair.

Roadie (commute) 30:30 [2] 13.0 km (2:21 / km)
slept:2.5 shoes: Mongoose Roadie

Felt really wobbly on the roadie after a month off. Even stopped to check if my wheels were attached properly. They were, i am just a gumby, and a bit sleepy too.

Roadie (commute) 33:00 [3] 14.0 km (2:21 / km)
shoes: Mongoose Roadie

To running

Run 22:35 intensity: (15:00 @3) + (7:35 @5)
shoes: Retro green Asics

Got there late so i only did a warmup/cooldown and 2 laps of the B@#$kboy Loop.
3.46 3.49 (900m, uphill the whole way, it is a marvel of physics).
Felt far far better than i was expecting, and actually managed to run instead of just surviving the session.
