This could have gone so wrong. Spotted at the start that compass was not pointing north, it was 10deg out! !!

Few blunders having lost confidence in compass with a few path options added which would not normally be an option.

SBC Reliability Ride. Somehow ended up in a scratch group and had my legs "ripped off". Cross Bike was not the bike of choice as all others bar 1 on carbon frames / wheels. Ended up almost a complete solo effort and absolutely wrecked by Thornhill on the way back. Strong headwind all the way back from Aberfoyle which added to my suffering. Next time it will be the road bike.
