| By the time i got home from work it was already dark and had to trek out to the oldies place to grab some mail. Drive or ride? decision was pretty easy seeing as had picked up a new head light from bike shop on the way home for lunch after having lost the old one.
by the end of the block was regretting the decision not to search harder for gloves and some sleeves. come too far already to go back tho. felt pretty crummy after yesterdays monster essay writing session so good to be out on the road despite the seat being too low from being squashed into the back seat of my spacious nova. stopped at parents for a bit of a chinwag, quick saddle adjustments and rummaged through boxes of crap i had conveniently left there and found some gloves for the ride home which was pretty quite, dont blame anyone for not being out after 10pm on a cold night. successfully negotiated the treacherous dark pacific hwy descent as cheap light was useless at those speeds

| 1st AROC race and was good not-so-clean fun
ripper of a race with Josh B and Daniel started out with a score o where the controls had clues for a crossword. fast and furious start to the race, coped a fence to the groin after slipping when trying to jump it (even thought there was a gate 5m to the side). 26.45min / 2.64km for crossword leg. new up a few orienteering controls, reckon we made up a bunch of places here cos we were 3rd or 4th to the start of the kayak leg. 15.30min / 2.58km for orienteering leg. pretty boring slog on the kayaks down to a control where we sent josh up to get the control, took him ages, eventually daniel went up after him and came back after finding the control at the 1st junction instead of the 2nd junction where it was supposed to be. lost probably 10-15mins here watching teams come and go. 50.31min / 3.9km for kayak. bit of street score orienteering after the kayak, again made up a bunch of places by going the opposite way to the majority of other teams. 20.14km / 3.52km for o leg. then begun the bike, didn't take to long before we were crossing waist deep sections of track. pretty sweet biking area, mostly sandy mud so wasn't clogging up the gear,. 41.21min / 6.17km for bike few more orienteering controls (19.33min / 1.46km) then biking it to the finish. (91.46min / 15.04km). the boys were starting to feel the effects, Daniel cramps and Josh from the weeks junior camp, so just kept on keeping on to the finish. no mtb ride would be complete without coming off. turned around to see if josh was impressed with my shoulder planting skills and heard a voice from further down the track, thats right it was right in front of the camera guy. he missed the action shot but got a good one not long after impact on the ground. http://www.arocsport.com.au/galleries/PPARS_19Apr0... Ended up 9th, 5th if take off 10mins for time wasted on the kayak control would have been 5th. pretty happy with 1st attempt, keen to give it another bash

| Industrial Drive time trial
turnaround at the u-turn bay just past hexham hj's felt pretty good, 22 seconds outside best time, would have easily smashed it if had a good run of lights aim is for under the hour. getting close, either need some luck on the traffic lights or to really smash myself
Tuesday Apr 15 | ||
| Swim 30:00 [2] 1.2 km (25:00 / km) | ||
| despite the rain all week thought it would be a good idea to keep the swimming going
immediately regretted decision when i got to the baths and i wouldnt have been surprised to see people skating on the water it was that cold and windy mad ethe effort to ride there so had to go in for a few laps not too bad in but got pretty cold towards the end There is always something to see at the beach. today was some chick fall off the edge of the path and land on the sand, put the smile back on my face at least,

| State League 4 - Brokenback Slopes (new map)
better run then yesterday 1 crazy unaviodable hill out the far side was a bit rude. navigated pretty well ran a similar loop to stu on the red3/4 at the end, pretty happy that 1) he wasnt running away with his usual pace, not sure if it was me running fast for him runnig slower, more likely him and 2) overhauled him on the last few legs into the finish, due to cleaner nav. cleaned up rob after yesterdays defeat, jock came from through to take the honours though
