Road Cycling 2:01:01 [3] 57.5 km (2:06 / km)
ahr:162 max:237 shoes: Merida Scultura 907
out along industrial dr then to F3.
took the lenaghans dr exit and got on the back of the peleton of a club road race, sat on the back for a few mins then decided their race needed to be spiced up a bit. went on the attack and rode off the front, couple of guys followed and got some funny looks when i went straight on at the turn around point

then headed out to speers for a quick stop. home through charlestown, 3 car smash near charlie square had a fair few spectators hanging around, must have been a good one, pity i missed it

good workout, looking forward to some beers while watching some frogs getting stomped in the rugby

Note: hoping that heart rate monitor was wrong cos that would be some cause for concern. dont think it likes the headphones going up past the chest strap.

Thursday Jun 26

Note
went to do rpm, was running late and all bikes were taken.
spent some time preparing for the gun show instead

Event: NOY 5 - Pelton

Orienteering (NOY5) 1:00:51 [4] 8.68 km (7:01 / km)
ahr:170 max:189 shoes: Asics Kayano
least favourite map of the cessnock ones although did make it into what i think is the nicest section of the astleys tower map, was much more pleasant running through that section than it was while controlling 5days and the constant ambushes by the evil spider army. pelton end of the maps is too green and scratchy for my liking. good course set by malcolm to make good use of the nice bits.
bit surprised to be so close to josh, was suffering the effects of picking some fast horsies yesterday
Orienteering (Control Collection) 33:34 [3] 4.43 km (7:35 / km)
ahr:161 max:185 shoes: Asics Kayano
back out to get the far controls, managed to be off to the left 5-6 again, not nearly as badly tho. was cursing offer to pick them up while climbing out of 7 again

Sunday Jun 15

Event: NCN - Local - The Quarry

MTB 2:10:00 [3] 47 km (2:46 / km)
shoes: Shogun Team
as far as bad decisions go this one rates up amongst the big boys
decided it would be a good idea to ride the mtb out to orienteering today after cutting yesterday short.
crappy windy wet and miserable day pushing sir shogun out to freemans waterhole from home, didnt want to take the roadie cos i knew it was going to be a fair way in along the dirt road once i got there, didnt even consider that i would almost double back to awaba
C • Wow that's a huge effort fo... 1
Orienteering 41:19 [4] 6.91 km (5:59 / km)
ahr:172 max:196 shoes: Asics Kayano
cant really fault the navigation today, just the legs felt like they had already run their race.
pretty clean except for a little backtrack going up to 11, looking ahead i thought i saw the main track coming up so turned and went into the gully and down a bit, turns out it was the main track on the far side of the creek and i was way early, i blame it on jedi mind tricks
MTB 2:25:00 [3] 41.5 km (3:30 / km)
shoes: Shogun Team
headed home through the hawkemount map straight for awaba station hoping i wouldnt have to ride back into town.
next train not for another 1.5hrs, dang these little stations. oh well took it as a sign that things were going to get better, they didnt.
the fact that it was 5k shorter but still took longer on the way home sums it up.

Saturday Jun 14

MTB 1:20:00 [3]
shoes: Shogun Team
Tried riding around some tracks at Brush Creek, didnt turn out to be much fun cos all the tracks were badly rutted, ended up getting cranky and throwing in the towel

Monday Jun 9

Running (Commute) 30:00 [3]
to/from indoor
Indoor Cricket 45:00 [3]
been a long time since i played, but got the call up to fill in
posted a respectable 44 runs for my pair (top score for our team too)
1st bowling over was a bit wayward trying to control the swing of the yellow ball but 2nd over was much better picked up a couple of wickets and -2runs off the over

Monday Jun 2

Running (Commute) 30:00 [3]
shoes: New Balance 767
to/from indoor
Indoor Soccer 30:00 [4]
shoes: New Balance 767
goal on the buzzer snatched a disappointing dreary draw from the grasps of a titanic triumph

Sunday Jun 1

MTB-O 1:57:33 [4] 29.21 km (4:01 / km)
ahr:163 max:179 shoes: Shogun Team
fairly happy with this one, considering damien only got me by 7mins on a bike that weight about as much as my roadie, and doesn't buck as much at the pbr worthy bull i call sir shogun.

bit sloppy on a few controls, and some poor route choices. ie going straighter on single tracks rather than the long way round on the big highways, ok with my choice as there is more fun to be had like that

un-hampered by bike failure, mr adams showed us what he can do when the nav is all tracks. happy just to be within about 10mins of that and less than 20 from the woc guys
C • Its Super Shogun 3
