running (trail) 4:30:00 [2] 12.0 mi (22:30 / mi)
i really have no idea our distance. we were doing scouting for the race i put on in october. we probably had 4 hrs of steady moving, and i'd say 60-70% was running. so it wasn't the trail fartleks planned, but intervals of sort. the terrain was steep at times and i definitely got worked.
what's nice is that 2 days later, my legs feel great! slight tightness in my right shin, but i think i'm finally finding my legs...
running (track) 16:00 [4] 2.0 mi (8:00 / mi)
4x800s
i wasn't expecting much. because i've been expecting too much lately. so i tried to ease up and just get out there. esp since i felt bad all day (what the heck is up with this constant dizziness?)
my goal: consistent effort & movement.
the times:
3:43
3:42
3:43
3:39
WOW. i am happy with these! not spectacular, but better than i expected. and my body felt pretty ok too! had pretty solid rests inbetween (perceived recovery - my monitor was sent in to get fixed). now to continue on the path towards finding my legs....
running (road) 44:00 [3] 4.5 mi (9:47 / mi) +30m 9:35 / mi
estimated distance.
tonight was stage 1 of the Sims Underground Stage Race (4 days of fun). i've done the whole thing the last 2 years - was 2nd woman last year. i knew from the get go that i couldnt handle the whole thing this year though, with my lack of running. i felt it would be too much too quick. i thought i'd be able to suffer through the first 3 days though.
not.
tonight was the 10k. the first 2.5 miles were good. hard, but good. then i just went downhill. breathing way hard and a bit lightheaded. i cut the run short. bummer. need to check the blood pressure tomorrow at work...
cycling (spin bike) 2:20:00 [3]
the remnants of Fay has now caused over 40hr of constant rain. lovely.
so to the spin bike i went. solid ride till i got kicked out. took it a bit easy since i donated blood today. my BP is all out of wack. (way too low - got rejected from donating the first time). need to monitor...
swim/row (pool) 30:00 [2]
swim in the pool. a little bit of everything. 30 min might be all i can handle inside. time passes so slow! but it actually was nice to do this, even though i feel clumsey.
cycling (mtn) 1:10:00 [3] 6.0 mi (11:40 / mi)
up at raccoon. unfort we ran out of time and had to turn around so rebecca could get to work. (we stopped halfway to cheer on people at the TT and got sidetracked). oops.
it's funny how used you get to riding the trail in one direction. we switched it up and i was all unfocused. a terrible ride technically!
running (trail) 1:05:00 [2] 5.5 mi (11:49 / mi)
nolan towards edwards point. didn't quite make it. run #1 post Pb was TOUGH. my poor feet... made so soft & supple from months of cycling, just weren't prepared for the rugged trail. sniff sniff. breathing was ok, but still only about 70%. didn't think i should overdo it on the first night back.
still though, it was great to be back on the trails!
cycling (road) 2:00 [3] 36.0 mi (3 / mi)
normal tues night ride with climb
started just a few minutes late but never got the pack. felt great until the climb. lost my breath and while i managed to get up it decently, i've felt bad ever since. hmm....
hit my first dog today riding. luckily slow enough so as not to injure anyone involved. stupid owner just sat there.
cycling (mtn) 3:25:00 [3] 29.0 mi (7:04 / mi) +500m 6:43 / mi
tanasi trails, preriding black bear course.
(guessed on elevation gain)
i know, this wasn't the 1 hour of yoga planned.
but it was a gorgeous day. and my friends that i haven't ridden with in weeks were tempting. so i gave in :)
actually felt pretty good. tired toward the end. give myself a B+ on technical skillz.
hiking (trail) 4:15:00 [2] 8.0 mi (31:52 / mi) +460m 27:03 / mi
hike in the flattops to devils causeway.
did NOT cross the causeway. yes i'm a scaredy cat.
hike was technical, but took the pace easy. legs/body felt GREAT! really, no soreness. felt like my lungs were still recovering - i got out of breath pretty easy. (ok, we were high up, topping out around 11,800')
cycling race (RACE!!!) 12:45:00 [4] 104.0 mi (7:21 / mi) +4267m 6:31 / mi
Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race!!
I did it! wahooo!
C • WOW! 4
cycling (mtn) 2:15:00 [3] 16.0 mi (8:26 / mi) +457m 7:45 / mi
from strawberry park, climbed up buffalo pass (dirt road), then descended via spring creek trails. awesome singletrack! then return to car via roads (flat)
the climb was with increasing levels of efforts. freakin hot out. elevation didn't get too high - 9000' or so. breathing felt ok. harder than normal, but not too bad.
