Run 20:00 [3]

warm up

Orienteering 40:00 [4] 6.4 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: X-Talons

JK relay
Ran 3rd leg for BOK (first time in 5+ years) with Duncan B and Keith A
The lads ran well and i went out in a good position 11th. However just missed re-entrant where 1 was hidden and lost bout 4 mins just trying to match map to ground, shminty caught me up and he couldnt find 1 either, eventually got it and then banana'd 2. tried to run my own race as schminty had same gaffle. we kept switching leads but i pulled away in the street part towards the end of what was a good course however someone decided to allow a 4 year old to map the area outside the street section. complete mess of a map at 16 cost me my lead and didnt have any fuel in the tank to take schminty on the run in. 12th in the end, should have been 9th or higher

Run 30:00 [3]

warm up

Orienteering 1:14:00 [5] 9.4 km (7:52 / km) +550m 6:05 / km
shoes: X-Talons

JK long
taped up blisters beforehand. decided to man up and run through any pain.
started of really well, in control with good flow, 5th place at 5. then was just not paying enough attention to map and was too high at 6 costing me 2 mins. pushed hard up hill to 7. then had really good route to 8 but just missed control and got well confused. was really unlucky and dont know how i didnt see it first time, lost 4 mins just trying to work out which reentrant i was in. pushed hard through to 12 before taking a steady aproach to long leg 13. not that slow in comparison but should have run harder. stupid error at 14 went way too low and lost min and energy on hill. controlled through 15-16 then maybe should have gone over top rather than contour to 17 as i lost quite a significant amount of time (90 secs) too low to 18 and staedy again to 19 but tried to push up steep hill to 20. rest were easy but i wanted to make sure i was accurate plus blister was raping my feet.
not happy with my place but can take positives knowing that i was running at a top 5 pace for most of cousre just made too many silly errors.

Run 25:00 [3]

warm up

Orienteering 42:37 [4] 5.7 km (7:29 / km)
shoes: X-Talons

JK middle
worst race ever. picked up wrong cd's in start box cos was looking at where james was running, me being retarded.
absolutely spiked 1 however looked at cds and thought it wasnt my control spent 5 mins running around in circles before looking at map cds, and swearing loudly. rushed of to 2 missed it and hit 3 by mistake. treb passed me and i was just fuming. next few were fine but was running too hard and missing controls when in circle. got to 6 and blisters were killing me, raw flesh on sole of shoe is never easy to run on. bailed the course at 8. decided to save my feet for sunday and monday. first time ive ever retired on a course...

Event: JK 2011

Run 45:00 [3]
shoes: Nike frees

morning warm up before jk sprint

Orienteering 17:17 [5] 2.4 km (7:12 / km)
shoes: Nike frees

not happy. couldnt get enough speed going throughout course. Map was impossible to read in that amount of detail. kept overshooting controls, no good control flow because you had to stop or walk in order to read map.

Run 15:00 [3]

cool down with peter and treb
