Run in belair with Tyson and Troy. Tyson is slow, so the run was slow. I didn't really feel like running that much though, so it was good.

Tuesday night training with the new facebook group SA Trail Runners. Which is the same people as normal, but a few extra.

Nice slow recovery run around north adelaide and along the torrens. Got a bit faster when me and Simon decided to go a different route around the convention centre, which was longer, so we sped up to catch the others, but got in front. Ran back to the others after i decided they were behind which was a good cool down. Simon tried to hide in the grass on the oval at the end to scare us, but i saw him and foiled his plan. :-p

Relays. Went first and was hoping to stay with the pack as long as i could. Was with them til 3, when i went to the wrong gully, which had a control too. Stayed with Liggo and Goddard, but lost Liggo after 10. Got confused after 12, i only saw 2 fences on the map and got confused when i saw the third. Got in front of Goddard at 16 when he was too wide and didn't see him again. Was a bit wide coming to the last control and went past the toilets, but corrected and was ok. Got a bug in my eye running up the finish chute (3rd thing in eye in 3 days - need to get protective glasses). Couldn't sprint up the finish as i was dead, but very happy with result. Fastest km rate for ages. Did better than Ben and Simon expected. :)

Long. Paced myself pretty well i thought. Mistake at 4 and Jim caught me 4 mins. With him for the next few controls, but got away a bit after 9, but then made amistake at 11 and lost a min and a half. Saw Simon at 12 and got on his train and caught back up to Jim. Took gel and gatorade at water at 13, which was a big boost. Seemed to get away from Jim again, but went past 15 and he had already got it. Walked up the hill to 16 and got a stick in my eye again!!! Took another gel at 17 and went past Jim at 18 and never saw him again, but Louis was still there, but got away from him after 22. Huge mistake at 23, didn't know which creek i was in and lost about 8 mins. Would've been pretty happy without that mistake.

Took a bit to get used to the scale, hesitated on 1 and 3, then ran off in the wrong direction to 4 and lost about a minute. Bruce caught me here, but stayed in front. Spiked 5, then got a stick in my eye running through the green to 6 and hit the track, then saw bruce punching control. Started laughing on the way to 9, as the control was on my washing line and 15m from my tent! Was with Bruce most of the way, but just died near the end.

Too hot again! I don't cope very well in the heat as i sweat so much. Went off at the wrong bearing to 1, but recovered, and was doing ok til 7 where the heat got to me. I thought i was going over the right spur, but wasn't and ended up on the wrong side of the creek. Stupid. Not too bad after that. Slow

Too hot again. Was going slow, but got so dehydrated, and then there was no water at 9 and was going to go back, but thought the next water at 12 wasn't far, so went to there. If there was no water i was going to go back, but there was so i kept going, but then got cramp on the way to 13, so came back.

Bullshit run. Too hot. Made my worst mistake in 10 years, 30 min error. Don't know what i did or what i was thinking, not used to the heat.
