Saturday Feb 9

Running long 1:26:39 [3]16.57 km (5:14 / km)
ahr:171 max:192 shoes: Asics Gel 1130
Went for a run in Morialta. Felt crap when i started, but my legs loosened up after a while and was able to go a bit faster. Decided to go a different way today. Went the normal loop backwards to centre track, then up to Moores rd, which was a bitch of a climb, but was determined to make it. From here went up moores rd, then turned down colonial drive, and back into the park to third falls and down the same way I went up. I couldn't get any speed up on the downhill, 8.45 for the normal downhill to the carpark, which is over a minute slower than tuesday.

Friday Feb 8

Orienteering race 36:11 [4]* 6.69 km (5:25 / km)
ahr:179 max:195 shoes: Asics Gel 1130
Summer Series at Keithcot Farm. Great map with lots of bush for a street o. The scatter course was good, hard to decide which ones to leave out, and which order to do them, but I had no chance of beating the oldies tonight. The 11 that the oldies had to get were close and the rest were more widely spread and further down the hill. Lost time on one control which was on a cliff in long grass, where the grass was higher than the cliff. Felt pretty good running, but wasn't fast enough, need to do more speed work.

Thursday Feb 7

Running hills 59:00 [3]11.78 km (5:01 / km)
ahr:170 max:198 shoes: Asics Gel Torana
Started the day with a trip to the blood bank to donate plasma. They took 660ml of plasma from the blood, then put the red cells back. It took about 40 mins, and I was drinking powerade the whole way through, so recovery is pretty quick.

After this I decided to go and buy some new running shoes. I got some Asics Torana trail shoes for 'o' and some Asics 1130's for ruuning, which are the new model of the ones I had before (1120's).

Went running at Belair in the evening with Mikey, Jenny, Zara and Lauren, but Lauren left us early on to do her own thing. Me and Mikey started off pretty quick and left the others behind, so we had to do some loops back, and eventually Mikey dropped off aswell, so I was running by myself for most of it. I felt great and could have been running faster for some of it, but didn't want to get too far ahead.

Tuesday Feb 5

Running hills 36:20 [3]7.36 km (4:56 / km)
ahr:172 max:199
Morialta. Legs didn't want to move after moday's long run. I was slow up to the lookout, 6.10 for the climb which felt slower than that. After that I felt a bit better, cruised behind Wes to the next stop. Then on the downhill felt great and did a pb of 7.33, without a brace.

Monday Feb 4

Running long 1:42:53 [4]19.18 km (5:22 / km)
ahr:173 max:194
Went for a run in morialta. I went up to Moores rd and kept going until i got to Montacute rd, then took a track that went down from there that Lachlan told me to take. I was a bit worried when I got to a gate that said 'trespassers prosecuted' and the house on the track, so i went into the bush and around the house until i got ot the road on the other side. From here it was 9km steady downhill all the way home down Institute rd and Montacute rd. I felt slow on the downhill, but still did the last 9kms at 4.30/km. If I was running with Simon I would have been faster.

Sunday Feb 3

Orienteering 50:00 [3]** 5 km (10:00 / km)
Adrian Craig's training day at Kuitpo. Shadowed Luke for the first half of the hard course, then Marissa for the second half. Picked up some controls after.
