Orienteering race (Shepherds Hill) 54:56 [4] *** 6.5 km (8:27 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco 11

O at Shepherds Hill. I had to help set up the computers as most of the TJ members were at Claire and Kens wedding. Then i had to help out all the juniors as it was the first SST of the year. I finally got to have a run, but there were no course 1 maps left, so i had to do course 2. I saw Simon's map and i was glad i didnt have to do that, as the extra distance had a lot of climb in it.

It was pretty good, started with a 1.6km sprint, then map exchange and a 4.9km course. It was pretty steep and slippery in parts and i walked up a couple of hills. Navigation was pretty good, except for at 9 where i expected to find a fence on the edge of the out of bounds area, but it was broken and just a couple of wires on the ground. The houses caught me, so i didnt go too far past, but some others did. Could've been set a bit better, so that you didnt have to go straight up and over hills.

Orienteering (Belair) 50:00 [3] ** 7.0 km (7:09 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Trabuco 11

Junior training in Belair. Putting out and picking up controls, and running from start to finish and back again.

It went pretty well, but as most of the kids are pretty inexperienced, i wasnt sure how hard to make it. It ended up being too easy, but i think there was still enough there for them to learn something before the first SST tomorrow. Its a good sign for things to come when we had enough there to fill both junior classes, and not everyone turned up! It was quite wet and cold, but they all still wanted to go out on a second course when they got back from the first one.

Running (Belair) 40:30 [4] 8.5 km (4:46 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14

Night run at Belair in the rain with Simon. Others said they would come, but wimped out as it was raining. We ran with headtorches, but still decided to stay on the bigger tracks. Went up past the lake, along the northern side, across the train line, then up to the tank in the middle and down queens jubilee as we thought the steps would be too slippery.

Nice run, it was faster than normal as it was just me and simon, so noone else to slow us down. Simon got ahead a little on the uphill bits, but only about 10m or so. It was very wet, and i actually got wetter than normal, from something other than sweat!

Running 29:00 [3] 5.0 km (5:48 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Kayano 14

Recovery run with Tyson, Fern and Riordan from North Adelaide. Went down to the Torrens and ran to the wier and back. Very easy, but that was all i wanted after driving 8 hours from Melboure getting home at 3.15pm. The worst part was having to go to the OASA meeting straight after!

Walking 30:30 [2] 3.75 km (8:08 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel 1130

Decided to do a lap of the tan in Melbourne after getting off the boat while waiting for a friend to finish work. Its a nice track and lots of people run there. Felt a lot bettter after as i didnt get much sleep on the boat and it loosened me up a bit.
