Bridgewater run

The others like my suggestion of doing Taminga grove, so we headed out along the creek and down Silver rd, past the destroyed Grumpy's and down Taminga/Gross rd to Mylor conservation park. We found the YHA is now a pile of rubble, then went to the school for a drink. Up Aldgate Valley and Nation ridge, then Heysen trail back.

Nice and cool and a great run. Pushed a bit on some of the hills and did a few loops back to the others. Ankle was a bit stiff and sore, still not fully recovered from a few weeks ago.

Morialta Summer Series Scatter 20 controls

Felt a bit tired at the start and seemed slow. Just about to go off the track into the creek to the 2nd control and it was right there on the track. Someone must have found it in the creek and moved it. Made a route that went past the start to tell them it was in the wrong spot. I think that actually helped my route choice as it avoided a couple of tough decisions. Rest was fairly straight forward.

Got new shoes today and they were slightly tight and my feet got quite hot and sore. Hopefully this will go away on future runs.

4 AM

Cycling 1:02:54 [3] 29.9 km (28.5 kph) +291m

To work.

Decided to get up a bit earlier and go up Anstey Hill on the way to work. The hill wasn't too bad, and a few spots of rain kept me cool. Stopped for a koala on Range rd Nth. Wanted to keep going down Range rd Sth, but was running out of time, so just went down NE rd from the top. Rain got a bit heavier and when I had to slam on my brakes at Hampstead rd the gear cable snapped and I only had front gears from there.

Now I am stuck at work with a broken bike :(
2 PM

Cycling 48:39 [3] 21.2 km (26.1 kph) +250m

Home from work. Detour via bike shop on Main North rd where they replaced the snapped gear cable. He had to take the whole gear changer apart to remove the broken bit that was jammed in there, so I couldn't have fixed it. Went the rest of the way via Regency rd and NE rd, because no right turn from MN to GJ. Seemed to be a lot more parked cars in the bike lane this way.
