Event: Possum Trot XIV
 

Half-trot. Ran most of race with Gene Wee and/or Chris Fielding of Nebraske. Disconcerting since I'm not used to that. With cold, zig-zag goat course and round footing, I never got in flow or map. I "tried" to skip #30, but got in wrong field, misread map at bottom, turned left and suddenly was near #30. Gene had lost time earlier; Chris and I hit 31 & 33 together. To 34, he went low, I went high, got confused by fields, roads, and trails - Gene and I punched 34 an 35 together - I barely outsprinted Gene to finish - third behind Joe and Chris. Great to be out, but felt rusty out there.

Pleasant though short stay at Spike's and Mike's in Lawrence Saturday night.

Anne Mrie got me out Friday afternoon at conference in Columbia. Found nice run in Rec area.
