Gainesville -- Hawthorn rail-to-trail. Paved, well-shaded. Stopped for look at bison and wild horses in Paynes Praire.

On firm, sandy road, tough ride with Fran on dike in Paynes Prairie State Park. Saw 3 black racers, dozen baby 5" gators. No sight of mommy but "something" moving in water caused grass & weeds to move! Moved about 10 feet.
