X-Country 46:40 [3] 11.73 km (3:59 / km) +190m 3:41 / km

Nationals XC
Not a result to write about (682nd) but really enjoyed myself.
Realised last week I was in no shape, but thought I should go for Gateshead in case any runners needed to drop out. Though was doubting myself the night before as my stomach was feeling rather worse for ware for some reason from the Friday lunchtime.
As such my stomach meant my pre-race was bad and started in a pretty bad spot (with Willy and Kev). The gun went and just tried to keep it steady, got a annoyed and push my way through a bit much to Tim Tetts annoyance. Caught site of Ba-ba and worked my way up to him had a brief chat though he pulled away up the first big hill and never saw him again. Think Stirky came past me around here too, then Dave Moir and Andy Green, then Cherry's brother I think and that was my first lap.
The second lap I tried to pick it up a bit but didn't really get anyway. Managed to actually enjoy it by knocking it down a gear in a few places which I don't think I'd have done if I was going full boar.

I will be back to improve on this but probably need to get back in to it again after a few shitty weeks before and after Dark Mountains. Pae seems about right based on Thursdays run

25min tempo on the quayside, found this quite hard mentally and spent a large majority watch watching.

Pace again is still a bit off where I'd like it to be though about right given yesterday session

(rest day)

A bit sore in the achilles today after the last two longer days. Was keen to get out until I got back to the office after being on site all day
