Pentland Skyline Hill Race. 48th Place

I've always wanted to do this race, thank goodness I don't have to do it again!!

The target time was 3hrs, but after the starts were delayed by 45 mins (due to muppets parking in the ski centre car park) my eating etc. was all to pot. Legs were pretty tired from yesterdays race, but the weather was perfect (sunny, cool, no wind) so it should have been a chance for a fast time (Kris broke the course record!!)

Struggled quite a bit on the "ups" of all the down and ups going out but on the way back fared much better in the "rough" stuff. It was a bit of a suffer-fest but it's ticked off the list.

East District XC Relays @ Livingston (Dechmont Law)

It was warm, sunny and dry underfoot.....not exactly XC conditions. Anyhow I was on last (4th) leg of the Central C Team. Managed to make the top 100 fastest splits running all by myself and not pushing 100%.

Nice run around the back of the prison from home after a VERY long day yesterday at Crieff Hydro and then Falkirk Town Hall. Felt OK despite a wee bit of a head cold and pushed the pace along the path behind the prison for about 10mins.

(rest day)

At Crieff Hydro for 7:15am to set up a stall for "selling" our wares. Left at 5:30pm and headed for Falkirk Town Hall for a 2 hour "dress" rehearsal of our mad WW1 film soundtrack we're playing for real tomorrow night. Totally knackered by the time I got home at back of 10.

This was supposed to be a nice gentle lunchtime run...30mins max, but for some reason about half way around I started feeling dizzy and exhausted. I had to stop, then walk, then stop (eating some blackberries I found) and then managed to run again as I was late for a meeting. This is the 3rd or 4th time this has happened in the last 6 months or so. No idea why, never happened before this year but slightly worrying all the same. I was fine when I got back to the office. Usual eating and drinking routine was observed before hand and I only went up to Dechmont Law so hardly a long, hilly run. HR looks worrying as well!!!

Gentle cruise around the usual route from home. Still feeling tired but it's a manic week this week so taking it easy with 2 more races at the weekend.
