Brown Course 4th place

Had decided a while ago that an event in the Northern Lakes (where the ground is soft and the girls can go round themselves) was preferable to not pounding the streets of Dunblane (again) as it would hurt my Achilles. Unfortunately the weather gods decided that they would make it more "challenging" than it needed to be. Blowing a hoolie and with squally rain showers (hail at one point) along with open moorland meant that it was reminiscent of the JK in 2016 at Kilnsey. Added to that my chesty cold and it was more of an adventure than planned.

Chest/lungs really sore from the uphill start and legs suffering from a lack of any proper training these last few months (4½ now and counting). Missed #2 (30secs) and then #4 (>1min) whilst in the circle. Fine after that except #9 where I was running into a headwind of hail and I lost my bearings. Not moving that well and having to walk a lot due to wind/terrain/lack of fitness. Good fun and nice to be out but Achilles sore afterwards.

Run from the house with Lucy & Katie around our 1 mile route (similar to what they do at school). Still feeling poorly and HR was way up given I was not even really jogging. Achilles were still noticeable (although the route is all tarmac) but not sore.
