Saturday May 10

Event: Scottish Sprint Championships

Orienteering race (Stirling sprint) 36:05 [4]3 km (12:02 / km) +152m 9:36 / km
shoes: Saucony Grid Fusion
Silly mistakes lost lots of time!
Quite disappointed with my poor effort, but enjoyed myself nevertheless.

Back to revision...

Sprint - Splits

Thursday May 8

Orienteering long (Arthurs Seat) 47:00 [3]*
shoes: Saucony Grizzly Approach
Ran a training event that had been organised by Ed years ago.
Was tough with lots of climb which took me by surprise.
Definitely a better choice than a gentle jog to distract me from revision.

Monday May 5

Orienteering race (Middle) 1:03:21 [5]4.1 km (15:27 / km) +195m 12:29 / km
shoes: VJ Twister
My best performance of the weekend.
Had eventually learned that it was better to be cautious than fast in certain areas. Was probably too cautious on at least one control, and wasn't exactly spiking the rest.
But raced my heart out, and wasn't far behind the leaders.
Very happy.

W21E - Splits

Sunday May 4

Orienteering race (Relay (3rd leg)) 50:49 [5]3.3 km (15:24 / km) +145m 12:38 / km
shoes: VJ Twister
In a non-competitive team with Caoimhe and Senan O'Boyle.
Proved to be my worst preformance of the weekend, with my body still trying to recover from the Classic race.
