Saturday Jun 14

Event: Jukola 2008

Orienteering race (Venla Relay (3rd leg)) 1:09:59 [5]5.6 km (12:30 / km)
ahr:178 max:191 shoes: VJ Twister
Came in position 557/942 on my leg.
So many silly errors, either due to following the train when I should have navigated. Or navigating when maybe I should have followed the train.
Relatively happy with my first effort in a Finnish forest.
Must aim to improve result next year (",).

Team finished in 278. Go EUOC!

Friday Jun 13

Orienteering long (Venla Training) 30:00 [3]
shoes: VJ Twister
Went for short run with Kyle, James and Simong to the training area (via short route which provided interesting). Then just navigated to 2 controls to check out the area and map, before Kyle and I headed back to test the showers.

Wednesday Jun 11

Running long 34:40 [3]4.27 km (8:07 / km)
ahr:151 max:171 shoes: Saucony Grid Fusion
Wee jog out to KB with Kyle, did a few errands, jogged back.
Kept the legs loose before the long journey to Finland, via overnight Megabus to London.

Tuesday Jun 10

Running intervals (Crags Intervals) 45:14 [5]5.4 km (8:23 / km)
ahr:150 max:187 shoes: Asics Spikes
Did 8 x 320m, 60 s rest intervals on grass near Pollock Roundabout.
Didn't record first and fastest lap due to pressing the wrong button, but did between 1:12 and 1:19min thereafter.
Time includes warm-up and cool-down.

Monday Jun 9

Running long (Meadows) 33:57 [4]6.7 km (5:04 / km)
ahr:172 max:189 shoes: Saucony Grid Fusion
Ran on my own, doing the same course that I did with Kyle on 30/05/08.
Felt slow, but was 1:15min faster than the last run.
Swimming long (Frontcrawl) 20:00 [3]1 km (20:00 / km)
Was shattered after run, so decided to just do the 20 lengths.
Pool was nice and empty though, so was very enjoyable.
