Leinster Champs - W21E - 2nd

My main aim today was to keep good map contact and minimise mistakes. Worked out quite successfully. Misjudged the scale so dropped slightly low for #1, then I was clean for the next few controls. Hesitant to #3, #4 and #9. Ran to the wrong saddle for #10 then took a bad line out of the control and which point Niamh and Declan caught and passed me. After that I wasn't being so careful with map contact and was trying to push harder to stop them getting too far away. This led to us all messing up #14, with Niamh and I racing head-to-head for the final control and run-in.
She kicked my ass, but I managed to grab second spot. So quite happy.

Running warm up/down (Slievenagore) 13:00 [2] 2.0 km (6:30 / km)
shoes: Inov8 RocLite315

To and from start.
Did a lot of walking around searching for Kieran's keys as extra cool down...

LVO Spring Cup event - Green - 15/63

As soon as I started I realised my legs were really tired, so took it easy around the course in order to save myself for tomorrow. This meant I didn't have too many bothers on the course. Helped into a few by Darren when he overtook me. Poor route to #3, too low at #8, unnecessarily climbed lots coming out of #11 so had to drop a good bit again to #12.

Senior Squad FUNdraiser - Maze-O & Micro-Sprint

A great event planned and run by the Stefko's. Many of the guys ran all courses. Eejits.
I started with 3 head-to-head-to-head-to-head runs in the maze. It was tricky enough for my to be pretty slow. Did get better after the first effort though.
Then I did 3 of the Micro-sprint courses. The first one was also pretty tricky, then I got used to the features.
Great stuff. Great fun. Great day.

Had to make up for missing intervals on Monday, but running them today. Might be a suitable switch of days for the next few weeks. I'll see.

Running warm up/down (PWS) 8:00 [2]
shoes: Inov8 RocLite315

Easy jogging pre-race by myself up the first part of the course, afterwards with Ted around the field.

Hill-running race (Prince William's Seat) 38:27 [5] 7.24 km (5:19 / km) +317m 4:21 / km

IMRA race - 52/221 (2nd female)

Had the female lead in this race until about the 36 min mark when Jenny MacCauley went flying past me. Gutting. Still, felt I was running well until that happened, at which point I felt mediocre. Plus Ted beat me. Again. How embarrassing.

Running (3-mile) 28:00 [3] 4.8 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: Karrimor Pro Run Ladies

Went out for an easy jog today. Ended up walking bits in the middle due to bad planning: a late afternoon lab b'day celebration led to a severe stitch. Had hoped a few others from the club would be out. Alas no. Kinda boring.

Cycling (Commute) 15:00 [1]

Bike. So. Tough. Going.
