Note
(sick)

Pushing my body hard over two days whilst being ill is far from ideal. Felt like absolute death today so no way I could run. Need to recover for Harvester so just plan to sleep for a week. Disappoining weekend (again!), combination of my stupidity and being ill.

Cracking to see the BOK girls get 3rd in the relays though!!

Orienteering race (BOC relays) 35:28 [5] 6.2 km (5:43 / km) +170m 5:02 / km
(sick)

First leg for BOK bullets. Felt awful but did the best I could, it was easy and therefore very fast. Would have easily stuck with the pack had I not been ill but just couldn't quite keep up. Sorry lads.

Orienteering race 1:45:05 [5] 16.2 km (6:29 / km) +540m 5:34 / km
(sick)

Been feeling crap all week so wasn't sure what was going to happen. Foot seemed ok.

Started well, didn't think I was going too quick but caught sight of my 3 min man (Alex) going to 9 then managed to pass him on a different route choice to 10, this gave me a good confidence boost so kept running strongly despite not feeling that good. Few wobbles in the quarry and lost at least a min at 16 (map was pretty sketchy). Then tired towards the end but kept going to finish in a reasonable time.

Downloaded and they said I'd mispunched...I couldn't believe it immediately claimed this wasn't possible, it turns out I'd not punched the drinks point control (21). I thought about it some more and realised I actually hadn't, I'd stopped had a gel and two cups of water in front of the people there then run off without punching, I actually think I didn't see the control at all and that was the problem.

Absolutely gutted goes nowhere near describing how I felt accurately. I just wanted to sit down and cry, all that effort despite not being well and for nothing. Would have been 13th and pretty pleased. So so so gutted.

Note
(injured)

Finished the O feeling terrible but not injured. Went to pub stood at the bar then as I walked away and put weight on my L foot I got a really sharp pain in the L ankle. Hobbled around for the evening hoping would be alright in the morning, but could hardly walk this morning. Unsure whether to go to A&E, doc or physio. Opted for physio in the end - says I've damaged a tendon which may mean I can run if I ice it, ibruprofen, he gave me ultrasound, interferential and taped it up.Apparently if I've damaged the ligament too I won't be able to run. Going back tomorrow evening and told to bring a razor - think he has some elaborate taping planned which may mean I can run...not looking good.
