WUOC Long -- 31st

Well this race started off pretty badly. Twisted my ankle 30m after the start kite pretty badly. Got straight up and hobbled on thinking it would clear up. Was a bit worse than a little one though and hurt a bit during the whole race but manageable. Was having to be very careful with foot placement though in the rough terrain. Also couldn't be my usual reckless self on the short downhills there were :( .

In general my plan was to have a strong compass with the terrain being so vague but this often lended itself to a lot of errors in the circle as I didn't have a good entry plan. Got caught by Bojan at 5 then just ended up fairly blatantly following. Got ahead for 2 controls but he was just stronger in terrain.

Annoyingly a bigish mistake on this vague control at the end. Just rocks and rough open everywhere so had no idea what was going on.

Straight to medical tent afterwards for some ice. Eventually doctor decided it probably wasn't necessary to have an x-ray despite it being the bone that was sore. As I could stand on the bad foot. Very stiff in the evening and starting to swell a small amount.

Relay depends on how morning run goes. Pretty much had this exact situation at JWOC 2012.
