Running 8:11 [2] 1.69 km (4:50 / km) +13m 4:39 / km

Running 2:23:05 [2] 24.04 km (5:57 / km) +1141m 4:49 / km
shoes: x-talon 212 2

Easy in Pentlands with EUOC freshers and Nixon. Through some rough stuff and back over the hills. Feeling a bit tired on the climbs and generally DOMSy but no big bonk or cramps so all good. Good way to end the week. Did over twice as much climb in this run as the previous 70miles this week.

Wu around the seat and bog. Feeling quite good.
Then to the meadows and session on the grass with Will, Tam, Tim and Ali. Just aiming to keep doing some reps throughout winter. Nothing too strenuous.

4x 200 [1 min], 4x400 [2 min], 4x 200 [1 min]

Felt fairly happy sitting behind Will and Ali then tried to push on towards the end. Hurting on the last couple but managed to hold off Will's desperate last rep glory attempt in which he died about 60m in.

Final run in Vienna. Finished with a long one. Enjoying it through the wood and park then a long flat bit along the middle island managed to up the pace a little bit. Then died a bit on the last few miles. Looking forward to getting back to Edinburgh and being a bit cooler. I am definitely a bit leaner a bit browner and possibly a bit cleverer if not more confused with the world. The philosophy lectures on time were/are/will be very confusing.

Found an orienteering map so printed it off and did a course from an event. Area was a bit overgrown in places but nice to break up the miles a bit. Forest is covered in stuff that looks like nettles but aren't, it was strange. Not ideal in trainers and shorts and a bit itchy now.

Squeezed a short one in during lunch. Much too hot for me and really struggling.

Have the opportunity now (17:45) to do another 40min before conference dinner but feeling absolutely wiped out from work, training and heat so gonna just lie down instead.

Found an even bigger park this time. Steady out then my JD marathon pace along this 4k dead straight 10m wide road for runners and bikes only, amazing (feeling easy at 4:0X but 3:3X was quite tough). Also went up this tiny hill I saw on the tempo. Tried to do 5k but ended up in a tram station so stopped there. Then back via the other park where I attempted and successfully disorientated myself.

Running 41:02 [2] 8.5 km (4:50 / km) +19m 4:46 / km

Easy round the ring road. Very grand place. Hip is sore from running yesterday. Probably only time I will get to train is early morning for the next few days.

Running 44:36 intensity: (24:36 @2) + (20:00 @3) 10.56 km (4:13 / km) +9m 4:12 / km
shoes: Asics Mileage 3

Found a really nice park, well groomed a running track, flower beds and a 50m high anti-aircraft tower from WW2. Impressive. Then found a place that did takeaway schnitzel. Night sorted.
