Awesome day out with Liam doing the
Mamores.
Totally cloudless day and pretty toasty. Thankfully there was enough wind for most of it not to overheat. Set off slow trying to walk more often than I normally would. Still after 2 hours I could feel my climbing legs struggling but they never really cracked which was nice. Turns out for this run we were about 40min off Jasmin's Ramsay record pace. I definitely couldn't have done another 13 Munros though.
The rockiness of it caused some issues and my knees and hips were getting sore after a while. On Munro 9 we both really hit a wall. We had run out of water a bit ago and it was a sheltered climb so very hot. On the way to 10 stopped in a stream for a good 10min.
Actually felt good on the track/road back though so I had the energy just not the muscles to cope with the climbing.
I reckon I drunk 4 litres of water out there and was still struggling at times. About 7 litres in total today (and a pint of ale) which must be close to a record for me.
