Scottish Indoors Heat 4th 4:05:33

We saw the first heat get won in 4:12 so knew that could easily have 7 qualify. I was planning on running hard anyway. Ben took it out though so slotted in to about 6th and overtook when gaps appeared. On 4:00 pace at 700 but pretty much knew we were through at that stage so eased off a bit. Felt good the whole way.

Fairly sure sub 4 could of happened. Hopefully in the final.

Not to be.

On pace for 700 (1:52) then lost 2-3sec over next 400m and couldn't claw it back.
I started as the outside runner and went off hard but so did everyone else so after 200m on outside ended up hanging on in last place anyway. In hindsight should of dropped straight to back inside from the gun but then if it had been slow I wanted to push it so you never know.
Moving quickly though then after 700m people started slowing and I moved through the field but never quite had the legs. It felt hard from very early on.

Oh well still a PB by a second from BUCS outdoors last year where I went and ran 14:48 2 days later so good signs.

May have to wait another year for another attempt. Hopefully not though.

15min tempo. Horribly windy. Take me back inside. Feeling okay considering though.

Then WD down to river clyde which has a perfect path for doing tempos on. Oh well gotta practice annoying pedestrians for sprint-o.

Pretty windy and wet but nice and warm at least. 1600s were grim but the ks felt fairly easy. Felt like I had loads left coming down the home straight each time.
Enough to outkick Alex anyway which doesn't normally happen.

Happy with another 19.5 72's(+-4sec as our pacing could do with some practice)
