British Middles -- 1st

Unsure approaching this how much you could read the map with the large amounts of broken ground on the map sample. The first four controls were shaky and I really didn't understand the map at all but got away relatively well. Then everything else with the map seemed really good. My orienteering was very scrappy but I managed to get away with no major mistakes. Just a lot of 5s mistakes here and there mostly on the legs I chose to go round avoiding green/open with hashing. The body was good though and even though Tom and Duncan were probably orienteering better I was able to get some time on the easier running legs.

Very happy to take the win. Obviously a lot of people are missing so it is nice to take the opportunity when it came.

Just felt so scrappy. A lot of controls and I was checking every code which I never do and it ruined my rhythm along with aching legs but got round so job done.

Really enjoyed this and felt some good flow which was nice after this morning. No obvious time losses but not checked properly yet.
Lost some pace in the 2nd half compared to Jamie and Shminty and was 4s behind Shmint with 2 controls left but he missed.

Really happy with my race and the result to go with it.

Easy on seat and was going to do a 5min effort on kf but stomach was not happy so went to meadows in closer proximity to house. Did a not so fun and not so fast K to get legs moving. Shuffle home.
