Nice long run with Peter (and Laura to start)

From Penicuik to C5 start then Scald, Carnethy, Turnhouse and then took the gravel track all the way back and then home too.
Cloud, rain and warm was nice conditions and much more enjoyable than heat.
Feeling a bit tired but no lows throughout the run.

Little plod around the meadows then to the station to get Laura's bike, which had a flat tyre so ended up triathlon running/pushing it back most the way but not logged.

Glasgow BMC 5000m

Had low expectations and no idea how this would turn out. It was pretty fun though and after getting dropped by a big group at halfway, in the last four laps I slowly reeled them in then overtook 5 people in the last 200m with a nice 31.

Kris always says consistency is key and I have run 15:39 in my last three 5000m races so I'm obviously doing something right.

Plan to get some sessions in the next couple of months and lay off the mileage a bit for recovery and also time constraints. Mostly just running and cycling to and from work. Then hopefully it won't be long until i'm in 15 flat shape again.

10min tempo then only managed 1k of a 1600 before I knew it was time to sack it in.

Multiple factors to explain tiredness including the two trail marathons, heat, working a lot and also moving flat at the moment. Going to have a couple of lazy days to try and get some energy back for the 5k on Friday.

Positive was a ridiculously good group out so hopefully when over August will have some good track sessions on the go as I'm pretty motivated to get some speed now.
