Sunday Dec 1 #

Note
(injured)

Back/top of left buttock was bad and unlike on Saturday when it loosened a bit my 40sec jog with Laura at the start was extremely painful.
Hobbling around the rest of the day.

Mallards Pike Middle.

Good fun and just ran in that comfortable place where everything seemed to flow nicely but still a bit tired. Not as fast or as fun as my usual aggressive approach though but was being mindful of the rest of the day.

WD with Laura. Back started hurting a bit on the warm down. Assumed it was from bouldering for the first time ever on Thursday.

Blorenge Fell race

Started off quick but got to the front and thought I might pull away but this full kit Hoka guy came past and I spent the whole climb dying hard to stay with him. Just about managed then got to the top, followed the flags where a marshal pointed us down the hill. Went flying past then the flags seemed to stop but I saw another flag ~100m down the hill and didn't see any others. Hoka guy followed me down to. When I got to the next flag there was flags to the left and right of me and realised I may have just cheated. Decided to just carry on anyway as it would have been a steep brackeny slog back up the hill. Then the flags seemed to disappear again so just headed to where I knew the race went down. Just cruised it down the hill as knew my time wasn't valid so no record and was comfortably leading.

I got to the finish and told the guy what I did and said maybe I should of read my map. Then looked at the map and realised it wasn't the route they sent us on anyway (map provided by organiser).

They disqualified me and Hoka guy in the end. Fair enough but not sure what I was supposed to do not knowing the course. A common occurrence in fell running I find. I wish they just didn't flag it and stated checkpoints or flag it extremely well.

Turns out the Hoka guy was youtube sensation Harry Jones .

Running 15:58 intensity: (4 @0) + (12 @1) + (12:26 @2) + (3:16 @3) 3.42 km (4:40 / km) +40m 4:25 / km

Chatting to Harry and Duncan on the Warm down. Back felt good during the race and this.

Orienteering 54:45 intensity: (28 @0) + (13 @1) + (13:55 @2) + (27:29 @3) + (12:36 @4) + (4 @5) 10.91 km (5:01 / km) +90m 4:49 / km
ahr:155 max:174 shoes: X-Talon 210

Southern Night Champs.-- Caerwent

Pretty much an urban type event and was not feeling up to running fast. Made one 90s miss in the woods but otherwise was pretty clean. Just not feeling fresh and stomach issues after trying to eat around the rest of the days racing.
Unsurprisingly second behind Ben.

Back felt okay on this but maybe it was just put behind other aches and pains I had.

Nice run playing on the small tracks in Wisley on the way home. Can't get much more convenient for a nice run en route home.
