Lakeland Warrior Long
Unsure about running as Achilles was hurting a little but had a couple of ibuprofen and see how it would go. In general it barely hurt on the race.
Much rougher and steep than yesterday's areas so being a bit more cautious. Feeling pretty good with the Nav, a small parallel error on 5 then overshot 11 too high. A bit confused seeing Willy then dropped into the control and Nathan was there.
On the path to 12 both of them came past me and at 13 we looked on the crag not the hill and GG was on us. I was definitely the least fit of this group in the terrain and so just held on until Willy and Nathan ran off the map to 16 and GG got a gap but I managed to close it.
Down and round the path to 17 I was hurting up the hill but easily got to GG on the flat/down then we hit a long steep climb. Joined by Peter and Duncan and I got dropped pretty quickly. Managed to stay in sight for the next two legs but the elastic snapped to 20.
I put my foot down a hole to 20 and it was extremely painful and was pretty much hobbling round the last loop, but was clean and probably only lost 40s or so.
Happy to be fairly technically good this weekend. Physically I was struggling today and at the end was falling over pretty much every 20s, but I've never been a terrain monster and I felt broken after one race so happy to make it through all three.
