Orienteering race 58:33 [4] *** 7.7 km (7:36 / km) +185m 6:47 / km
spiked:10/13c

Day 2 of Kenine Hill mostly Heather Heights - messed up the first one off to the right and took a couple of minutes to work out why I missed the large rock surface - Bill Mann then cruised past at #2 and I could see him off in the distance as I crossed the padocks, was suprised to seeBill again at #7 where he must have lost quite a bit of time - stupidly I then lost another 3 minutes when I overran the control and was looking on the wrong rock. A good weekend for the juniors with Bill well in front both days and Joe taking 2nd on day 2 and if not for his spin out on the 1st control day 1 would have certainly been quicker than Simmo.

Road Cycling 1:30:00 [3] 45.0 km (30.0 kph)

CRT river ride, going at a good speed with a tail wind and good rolling group. Someone hit a water bottle at Point Walter, lots of "slowing. bottle,(&*#^!" I slowed but not enough to avoid clipping the wheel in front and then the kerb which brought me down. Not too much damage I hope a couple of minor abrasions but a cramp or small tear in my calf muscle seems like the worst thing. As per normal after working out that I was not dead, major broken limbs the question was quickly asked, "Is the bike OK" good to know where the priorities lie.

Will see at Kenine Hill this afternoon if any real damage, to me not the bike!

Orienteering race 36:20 [4] *** 5.36 km (6:47 / km) +156m 5:55 / km
spiked:6/9c

Day 1 of the Autumn Classic at Kenine Hill - 22 years on and made after Tooms started Orienteering, makes me feel a little old!
Western and very open end of the map with circle around Kenine Hill - started a couple minutes after Joe Dowson and was suprised to see him running back from Control 2 to Control 1, not sure what he was up to but he was quick once he sorted himself out, I hope I did not put him off by saying he should start first. Messed up #3 not reading the right rock surface as an attackpoint and lost around 2-3 minutes, #4 a bit doubtful and was luck to see Phil Dufty leaving it and well a water control is a water control and I thought that will work. Had to run hard across the ploughed area to catch Nicole who was running well and chasing Helen Post and Moreen.

Morning run in Kings Park, mostly sand tracks. Nice morning not to cold and no wind

Running 41:00 [4] 8.0 km (5:08 / km)

Kings Park long loop, Gary O said I am running slowly tonight so tried to keep with him. Well he was jogging and I felt flat out and tried to run the hills on Law Path hard but he cruised away from me on the 2nd hill. Still a better time than some weeks but sub 40 seems a bit hard to do at the minute. But then speed work is not really Rogaine training!
