Orienteering race 55:43 [4] *** 7.07 km (7:53 / km)
spiked:8/11c

Yetar Springs H3 course, 1:15,000 is hard to read on the run but generally the fine detail was not required to locate the controls and contours were better for navigating even in the more complex areas.

Was slow starting and struggled to get going with a relatively hard slog up to 3 but after the course was largely downhill which was nice. Saw Tooms and Gary C from #3 and was not sure what course they were on but they seemed to be going to the sme place so kept an eye on them, turned out H2 & H3 were the same from 3 to the finish. Tooms was H3 and Gary H2. Both got away after 6 - I was taking better routes on 5 & 6 so the tortoise was keeping the hares in check at 5 & 6

Gary twisted his ankle near 9 so got back past him.

I nice run and the weather picked up to a reasonable sunny day, even managed to weed the back garden which I had been putting off for sometime due to showers and cold.

Road Cycling 2:08:00 [4] 63.5 km (29.8 kph)
shoes: Colnago CLX

Smallish CRT group ride - river + Shelly. Very strong SW wind 35km/hr gusting to 55 at Swanbourne. On Shelly there was break away and I ended up in the chase group very hard but successful chase into the wind but then Riders Choice caught up at Shelly bridge and we cruised through to the Causeway which was the end of me as it was straight into the wind along Riverside Drive and my legs were gone. Struggled at 15-20km/hr to the brewery and bit better after that in the lee of Kings Park and caught Peter who also dropped off near the hospital.

Pace to the causeway must have been good as pretty slow from there back to Subiaco.

Cramp in my left knee and calf

Road Cycling 10:00 [2] 4.0 km (24.0 kph)

Road Cycling (Commute) 30:00 [3] 13.0 km (26.0 kph)
shoes: Piave Bike

Via Matlida Bay strong tail wind so 35-39km/hr different story on the way home up Malcolm St and through Subi into the westerly. Car crash at the exit of Crossways - taxi and car never did like that junction

A bad week to start cycle commuting - it can only get better from here.

Running (Intervals) 19:13 [4] 3.52 km (5:28 / km)

Shenton lake.

320m 1:23 into the wind
310m 1:15 tail wind
310m 1:21 into the wind
310m 1:16 Tail wind
680m 3:06 Around the lake

Pretty much the same as last week but very windy so not good conditions.

Road Cycling (Commute) 1:19:00 [3] 37.5 km (28.5 kph)
shoes: Piave Bike

Tried a different route today, down to UWA and along Matilda Bay bike path, which was good and road killed a few other bikes and had a few good chases. Way home was again via Matilda Bay and through Dalkeith and Mosman to Swanbourne back along the railway and then a loop of Kings Park.

A bit windy and just missed the showers - they must have been falling on tRicky

Running 44:24 [3] 8.0 km (5:33 / km)

KP run, felt Ok down to the UWA but my legs were shot on the LAw path and ended up walking a couple of times at the tops of the small hills - very slow time can only get better from here!
