Orienteering race 1:03:20 [3] 7.17 km (8:50 / km) +224m 7:38 / km

State Long Distance Champs,

Fairly poor run with no energy and way too many mistakes to make any show of the top half of the field.

1# Well off to the right on #1 and hit the track creek crossing
2# OK-ish but had to relocate off the clearing beyond the control
#3 Bad route choice as I thought I was running slowly and so chose not to take the obvious track option and battled up and over the ridge, did spike the control
#4 Not sure what happened but missed the control and circled around a few times - did go straight to it later when control collecting
#5 Could not work out the mapping and lost a ton of time checking on the black spots on the hill side
#6 Looonnnggg leg no navigation problems just no energy to run up gentle slopes
#7, 8, 9, 10 much as #6 easy navigation but no energy

Hope to get some before the week in SA of the Champs carnival

Anthea posted a very impressive 41 minutes

Orienteering race 36:23 [4] 4.46 km (8:10 / km) +95m 7:23 / km

State Middle Distance Champs and Malmalling

Nice course with a good few twists and turns and enough to cause a few errors. Lost time at #2 too far south (followed Michelle Whitfield out of #1) #8 where it was vauge and realised i was too far North and not far enough down the hill, very hard to see much in the Blackboy forest, #10 overshoot and to the next boulder and had to double back, #11 did a 180 out of 10 and started running SOuth instead of North until worked it out, Small mistake on #12 looking in the worng bit of rock.

About 3 mins down on Rob West in 2nd and way off Simmo in 1st

Running 39:03 [3] 6.75 km (5:47 / km) +67m 5:31 / km

Run at the Inverness Golf course in Denver, hard work on the rises and needed to stop a few times to get some air in.

Not sure if the week at altitude training will help for the champs on the weekend?

Watching Paint Dry 4:00:00 [0] 0.0 mi

Went to the Baseball Colorado Rockies and San Diego Padres, a long 4 fours for 10 runs, 7 of which were scored in one innings which did lighten up the middle of the game.

20/20 has got to be a go, would not be hard to convert the baseball ground into a cricket pitch. One problem is the crowd would not like having to give the ball back every time someone hits a six!
