Orienteering race 38:18 [4] 2.9 km (13:12 / km)
shoes: Innovates

OZ Middle Champs - went quite well and had a fastest split to the 1st control which was subtle 7/11m Boulder that I could see from just past the start triangle!

Tricky thick tin mining in light green for the next few but lost 3-4 minutes on #7 when I got with a few metres of the control and turned away - Adrian Uphill stormed past me and I tried to hold on but just too quick

Running 39:41 [3] 6.5 km (6:06 / km)

Steady but slowish run around the Goodwill -> Storey Bridge cicruit in Brisbane, nice and humid but good to get away from the office

legs still stiff from the weekend hopefully they will come good by Saturday

FIxed Bike 45:00 [2]

Steady spin on Hotel gym bike while I watched cheerful news from around the world!

Legs still feeling the effect of the weekend but better for the spin

Note

Rest Day

Legs very stiff and tired, so a long flight to Brisbane was just what I did not need. Need to do a bit this week to get ready for next weekend in Tassie

Orienteering race (Long Distance Champs) 53:54 [4] 6.59 km (8:10 / km) +185m 7:10 / km
shoes: Innovates

Into the great wide open spaces of Frazzle Rock, what a contrast to Saturday.

Had a clean run, was lucky at 2 when I was not fully in contact the control popped up in front of me. Caught Rob West around 5 and then had him breathing down my neck the rest of the course but managed to keep in front of him. Slight wobble on 7 when I was in the next gully but worked it out quickly and only lost a few seconds. Hard grunt up the track to the last control with Ed the Treasurer puffing and panting in time with me.

Good to get a win, I think the first time for a few years I have taken out a state champs.
